About

Welcome to my website! Here you can find out more about me and my life as an academic.

I currently work as a lecturer in Psychology of Education at the University of York. My work mainly focuses on language acquisition and processing but I also teach and research on other subjects related to the psychology of education.

I am very passionate about academic mental health and write a blog about my experiences of doing a PhD and being an academic with a mental illness (I have Bipolar disorder). I hope that my experiences and lessons learned may be of use to other PhD students and academics with mental illness who are trying to navigate academia or are simply looking for tips on how to look after their mental health. You can read more about my PhD experience and mental health in this blog post.

In addition to my blog, I also give invited talks on the topic of student and staff mental health. If you would like me to give a talk for your institution or platform please get in touch via my contact page.
